Jennifer Perkinson, LPC-S

I am a compassionate counselor with over 15 years of experience walking alongside adolescents and adults as they navigate life’s challenges. My approach is deeply relational, individualized, and rooted in a psychodynamic and trauma‑focused framework, with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques thoughtfully integrated to support healing, emotional regulation, and everyday functioning.

I have extensive experience working with childhood trauma, complex PTSD, bipolar disorder, and anxiety disorders. I also have a heart for supporting caregivers, offering understanding, validation, and practical guidance as they navigate the emotional and systemic challenges that often come with caring for others. As a parent of children with special needs, I bring not only professional expertise but also lived experience. I understand the realities of advocacy, burnout, and long‑term caregiving, and I strive to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and not alone.

I am a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS) and provide affirming therapy for autistic adolescents and adults, as well as support for families and caregivers. My work is collaborative and strength‑based, honoring each client’s unique story, needs, and goals.

As a Christian counselor, I am trained to integrate faith and evidence‑based counseling in a way that is respectful, sensitive, and led by your preferences. For clients who desire it, faith can be a meaningful source of comfort, hope, and grounding within the therapeutic process. Whether or not faith is part of your work in therapy, my goal is to offer a safe, compassionate environment rooted in empathy, trust, and care—where you can bring your whole self, find steadier footing, and move toward healing, growth, and renewed purpose.

OUR VALUES

Compassionate Care with a Spiritual Foundation

At Broken Path Counseling, we prioritize a trauma-informed environment where safety and pacing are essential. For those who wish to integrate their faith, we offer Christian counseling that weaves in Scripture, prayer, and discussions on God and suffering to find deeper meaning. This spiritual integration is entirely client-led and optional, ensuring that individuals of any faith background, or none at all, feel fully respected and secure. We work collaboratively with neurotypical and neurodivergent adults, offering a calm, steady presence as you walk through hard seasons, focusing on restoration and hope that aligns with your personal values and spiritual journey.

Our Mission & Vision

We are dedicated to helping every client rediscover their inner strength and resilience through compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming care. Our vision is to foster a safe, collaborative environment where personal growth is nurtured, ensuring a clear and supportive path toward lasting emotional well-being. Our work is informed by compassion, hope, and—when desired by the client—Christian faith as a source of strength.

Begin Your Journey to Strength

If you are walking through a difficult season, please know you do not have to do it alone. I invite you to reach out for a gentle first session or consultation. Together, we can find a steady path forward in a safe, trauma-informed space.
